MacIntyre: “Scheffler? He’s Just Another Golfer!” After Top-Scot Humbles Scottie

Top Scot Robert MacIntyre along with jubliant Saturday morning foursomes partner Victor Hovland were celebrating after handing the World No. 1 and his USA team-mate Russell Hendley one of the biggest embarrassments of Schefller’s career.

The European team duo of MacIntyre and Hovland humbled their more-fancied rivals winning 1up in front of probably the meanest golfing crowds the European duo would have ever faced.

And you can just imagine MacIntyre’s comment if he’d been asked before the match he his thoughts in coming-up against a player of Scheffler’s calibre as it was been a mirror is his remarks when asked his thoughts of teeing-up with the current USA President looking on.

Victory for the Scottish/Norwegian duo comes a day after their disappointment in losing the Friday morning foursomes match against Xander Schauffele and his USA partner Patrick Cantlay.

Their 1up triumph in the final match of the Saturday foursomes has seen Europe move to 8 1/2 points and now five clear of the hapless-looking Keegan Bradley captained USA outfit.

Europe now only require 5 1/2 points from the four points on offer via the Saturday afternoon fourball and the 12 points from the closing Sunday singles to retain the Ryder Cup and, if so, become only the fifth team to win on USA soil since a first in 1979 and the last 13-years ago at the 2012 Miriacle of Medinah.

And the way Luke Donald’s side is playing, the host Americans could be facing one of the biggest Ryder Cup drubbings in this 45th hosting of the Ryder Cup.
