Donald & Bradley Officially Exchange Bethpage Park Welcome Pleasantries, Singing Praise For Each Other (Video)

The first official day of the 2025 Ryder Cup has got underway with both teams arriving at Bethpage Park Black ahead the on-course start to competition on Friday morning.

And it could not have been a more pleasant encounter with both the reigning capgtain and his American team host each overflowing with praise for their rival.

For Luke Donald’s defending European Team is has been a relaxing day on the pratice range and hjs men choosing not to take the host course.

Donald and Bradley attended the Ryder Cup Media Centre where both were introduced and Donald being the first to speak to the media, and it could not have been a more poignant remark from the Englishman to get formal proceedings under way, and with Donald declaring:

“I think the last three-and-a-half years in being able to do this captaincy twice has been one of the most rewarding things in my life.  It’s been a priviledge to do one at home and one away.

“It’s something not a lot people have had the opportunity, and I certainly don’t take it for granted.

“As I said, some of the best of my career have been in a Ryder Cup as a player, as a vice-captain and now as captain.

“I am very excited about this week.  We understand the challenge ahead.  I have a great team that I am very confident in and a team that has a lot of form, and a team that has been together quite a lot over the last few years.  But very excited to be here at Bethpage Page Black, in New York.  I think it is an incredible location being a state park and a public facility and very excited to get going.

“It’s been a long build up and now it’s time to let the guys go play”.

Host captain Bradley responded:  “It feels really amazing expecially seating here next to Luke Donald. I came here as an 18-year-old kid going to St. Johns.  Played the Red Course as our home tournament and to come back as a Ryder Cup Captain is something beyond my wildest dreams.

“So it’s been a really magical week for us so far being around the guys and seeing how well they are bonding, and being out at this incredible venue has been unbelievable.

“This has been one of the most incredible things I have experienced in my life, and t experience those alongside an incredible friend like Luke Donald and an amazing team like Europe and they coming off a great win has been awesone.

“Every day I get up and get to hang with our guys on a great golf course, and to experience again a Ryder Cup – it’s been a long time since I have been in a Ryder Cup and I can’t tell you how amazing it’s been.  To see the American flag, to see the Ryder Cup logo and to be a part of this great tournament again”.
