Evian C’ship Distressing Scenes As Hull Collaspes Twice – Struggles With Virus & Withdraws But Not Hospitalised

It was a highly-dramatic opening round of the 2025 Evian Championship in France with top British golfer Charlie Hull collapsing twice due to the affects of a virus.

Hull shocked all when she collapsed twice during the opening round of the women’s fourth major of 2025 at Evian-les-Bains, France.

Hull, who started on the back nine, collasped before and after her tee shot on her 13th hole with officials being immediately notified ahead of a motorised cart rushed to the 13th where the presnto World No. 19 was then placed on a motoerished golf cart and taken for treatment.

LPGA media officials later advised Hull, who was 1-under at the time, was naturally withdrawing from the while she received intravenous fluids though it’s compforting to learn Hull did not require hospitalization. Hull had picked-up three birdies but also posted two bogeys through 12 holes of the first round.

The 29-year-old tied for fourth earlier this year at the HSBC Women’s World Championship. She earned her last victory at the Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of America in 2022.

Hull won her only other LPGA Tour title at the 2016 CME Group Tour Championship. She finished inside the Top 3 at four different majors, including two second-place efforts in 2023.

Leona Maguire, Andrea Lee, Gabriela Ruffels, Grace Kim and Jennifer Kupcho are tied for first at 6-under through 18 holes of the Evian Championship.
