What a golf promoter’s dream to have seven major winners, six of them Augusta National champions among the top-10 heading the final round of the LIV Golf Miami at the Trump Doral ‘Blue Monster’ host course.
Double US Open winning Bryson DeChambeau and among the favourites heading to next week’s Masters, leads the way into the last day in the Sunshine State by two shots at five-under-par.
Close behind is Masters champ Sergio Garcia (2017) at three-under while the Spaniard is one clear of fellow Augusta winners Patrick Reid (2018) and Phil Mickeson (2004, 2006 and 2010) plus Aussie Marc Leishman each at two-under.
Former World No. 1 Jon Rahm, and himself fitted with an Augusta National members green jacket in 2023, is tied sixth with three others including fellow former World No. and Masters winner in Dustin Johnson (2020) along with South African Charl Schwarzel (2011).

However no matter their credientials, it is DeChambeau the player to beat birdieing his closing two holes in a round of 70 for the Crushers star to head to the last day leading by two shots.
“Yeah, what a test of golf out there. There was so many times out there where I felt like par was the best number it could possibly be out there on that hole, 14 being one of them,” said the double US OPen winner.
“I don’t know how anybody birdied 14. No. 11, I mean, that’s a tough hole to birdie. 3, don’t know how anybody birdied that. I almost did, but still. This golf course, every single angle just produced the most testing golf shots out there that I’ve seen in a long time.
“I certainly enjoyed it. It was a great test. G-Bo and I were patient. We focused on the wind. We made sure we put it in the right places most of the time besides 11, but that’s okay, we’ll figure that one out after, and we did pretty well”.
