Scheffler Seeks To End Eight Event Winless Run In His Lone Star State

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will tee-up in this week’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson looking to end a run of eight PGA Tour events without a victory.

The Dallas resident will be making his sixth showing in the event since making his PGA Tour debut in the event in 2014 as a 17-year-old amateur, making the cut to share 22nd place.

“Home weeks are always nice,” he said ahead of the 2023 event.

“It’s good to get to sleep in my own bed and just spend some time at home. We’ve got a couple friends coming in this weekend, so get to hang out with everybody. Always good to be back here at the Nelson.

“I’ve got special memories playing this tournament. Definitely excited to be back”.

Schefffler is now a double Masters champion and has won 16 other pro career titles including his 18th at last Decemeber’s Hero World Challenge.

The World No. 1 will also be striving to capture just a second victory in the Lone Star State after winning the 2022 WGC – Dell Technologies Match Play at Austin.
