Knox BirdiesThe Last To Tie The Lead, As He Looks To End Near Six-Year Winless Drought

Scotland’s Russell Knox superbly birdied the last to be tied for the lead heading now to the final round of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Club Car Championship in Savannah, Georgia.

Knox signed for a 69 to join Frenchman Jeremy Gandon sharing the lead at 14-under on the host Landings Golf & Athlectic Club course.

The seven time pro winning Know is now in superb position not only to win for a first time on the secondary Korn Ferry Tour but to enjoy a first victory toast since July 2018 when he denied Kiwi Ryan Fox for the Irish Open title at the Ballyliffin club.

The very affable Scot lost his PGA Tour playing rights at the end of 2022, so he’s been plying his trade on the secondary Korn Ferry Tour and bying his time for moments that he now faces in Savannah, Georgia.

As well, the position Knox now finds himself is a best chance of finishing atop of the board for the current World No. 364 since last January earlier this year when he was joint runner-up in the Korn Ferry Tour’s Bahamas Great Abaco Classic at The Abaco Club.

And a victory in the great state of Georgia, and when the year’s first major in being held this coming week, would be a second Scottish men’s pro success on either the Korn Ferry Tour, PGA Tour and/or DP World Tour in some three weeks after Calum Hill captured the Joburg Open.
