Great news and despite his recent sadness, tournament host Tiger Woods will return to the PGA Tour to tee-up in next week’s Genesis Invitational.
Woods, who annually hosts the ‘Signature’ event, will be teeing-up for a first time since last December’s PNC Championship in Orlando where he and son Charlie, along with daughter Samantha acting as caddy went so close to victory.
And Woods will make his return to a first PGA Tour sanctioned event since missing the halfway cut in last July’s 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon.

Due to the recent deadly wildfires in the LA region, the decision was made to move this year’s $20m Genesis Invitational south to Torrey Pines and close to San Diego in southern California.
The course recently hosted the Farmers Insurance Open and played over both the North and South courses however the Genesis Invitational, featuring just 80 players, will be played over the South course.
Woods will tee-up having nine times in his career at Torrey Pines including seven Farmers Insurance Open titles from 19 tournament appearances between 1998 to 2020, the 2008 US Open and when he joined Jack Nicklaus as the only player to win golf’s Grand Slam, not once but three times.
As well, the then amateur Woods captured the 1991 World Junior Amateur title at next week’s host venue.
