Red Hot Chilean’s Double ‘Down Under’ Victory Delight

Red hot Chilean Joaquinn Niemann continued his fondness for golfing ‘Down Under’, capturing a second success in 15 months with his LIVGolf Adelaide triumph.

Niemann won the 2023 Australian Open title and now thanks to a sizzling final round 65 for a three-shot winning margin he was handed the LIV Golf Adelaide trophy on The Grange course in the South Australian capital.

Niemann denied fellow Australian Open champ Abraham Ancer with the US-based Mexican who led going into day three but then faltered with three late bogeys to eventually finish joint second.

It was not all pain for Ancer as his Fireballs team of captain Serigo Garcia, David Puig and Luis Masaveu easily won by six shots the team trophy.

Though it was Niemann’s Sunday in the ‘City of Church’s and also a second straight LIV Golf season in which Niemann has posted an early victory.  Last year, he notched wins at the first and third events, topping the season-long standings until ending up runner-up to Legion XIII’s Jon Rahm in the Individual Championship.

Two months ago, Niemann captured the Asian Tour’s  PIF Saudi International presented by SoftBank Investment Advisers that assured success also in the International Series championship that also wound-up  in Riyadh.

His form continued the week prior to winning in Australia with his third place result in the Asian Tour’s International Series in India.

Niemann believes his form now is even sharper and will only keep improving.

“I feel it’s better. I feel my game keeps improving”, he said.

“That’s something that I keep seeing during my career, that it’s improving every time. I feel like every time I get more experience, I think days like today makes me grow as a player.

“Yeah, I think there is a lot I have to take from today and learn from it because today was a really good day. If I could have these Sundays more often, chasing leaders, it would talk really good for my game”.

Of course, being a now double ‘Down Under’ winner Niemann was asked what is was about Australia that lends itself to now two victories for the LIV star.

“Obviously the fans are amazing here”, he said.

“All the crowds, they are pretty good. They like Team Torque here. They like us.

“Being able to see some hats out there with our logo and some shirts and some people cheering for us, it was pretty special. We had a good day also for the team today.

“So it’s been great, Australia”.
