Law Returns To Mauritius Looking To Make A Sizeable AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open Deposit.

David Law tees-up for only a second occasion in five years at this week’s AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open looking to make a sizable monetary deposit ahead of the up-coming Festive Season break.

Law, 33 has competed on the Indian Ocean island just once before and that being in 2019 and also in his last event of the year, some eight months after his maiden DP World Tour triumph in Australia and in his maiden Tour season.

While this week’s AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open is also the last of the golfing year, Law’s presence this week in Mauritius is more out of necessity than choice after the Aberdonian missed out on retaining full 2024/25 Tour membership.

It’s meant already in his now three ‘new season’ events having to tee-up where Law must play and that include two events in Australia being in the last week of November and a first week of December and now ending what will be the close of his 13th year as a pro in distant Mauritius.

Law, however, returns to Mauritius buoyed by his 20th place result in the co-sanctioned Australian Open and has him currently lying the leading Scot on the 2024/25 Race to Dubai money list.

He said:  “It’s good to be back to Mauritius as it’s been a few years.

“I’ve had a few weeks back in Scotland and now returning to competition for this one week feeling a lot more positive after a decent finish in the Australian Open.

“Hopefully after what has been a pretty tough year I can end on a really positive note ahead of the New Year”.

Joining Law this week will be fellow Scot Scott Jamieson who is making his debut in the £1.2m event.
