England’s newly-wed Eddie Pepperell was celebrating also a first visit, as well as a delayed honeymoon in posting a 66 to lead the field by a shot at six-under.
He said: “It’s the first time Jennifer and I have been here. We really love it. We’re staying in a lovely hotel. I said to her before we came out here to treat it as a bit of a honeymoon because we haven’t had one since our wedding in August”.
Disappointment though for Aberdonian David Law who was level par through 14 holes but finished with a two-over 74.
MEANTIME …..
David Drysdale is just one shot shy and with two rounds to play in hopefully regaining his Asian Tour card after grabbing five birdies in a five-under 67 for a four-under tally through three rounds at the Tour’s Q-School at Hau Hin, Thailand.’
Drysdale shares 45th place with the leading 35 players at the close of play on Saturday earning full 2025 Tour membership.
However, fellow Scots Marc Warren and Ollie Roberts have work to do with Warren at two-under and the Macau-based Roberts at level par.
