Exclusive: Graham Hoping Leopard Creek Course Knowlege Will Add Bite To His DPWT Debut

Exclusive ….. Scotland’s newest pro Gregor Graham is hoping host course knowledge will add bite to his game when he makes his DP World Tour debut at this week’s co-sanctioned Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek on the edge of the famed Kruger National Park in Malelane.

Graham, 21 turned pro mid last month in a surprise move after having certainly booked himself a place in next year’s Walker Cup showdown at famed Cypress Point.

However, the lure of being afforded secondary 2025 Challenge Tour membership was seemingly too good to turn down and no sooner did he announce he was joining the play-for-play ranks and he was afforded an invitation to tee-up in this week’s $US 2.5m event on a crocodile inhabited course located some 250 miles east of Joburg.

And Graham’s no stranger to the Leopard Creek layout having shared third place near two years ago in the 2023 African Amateur Championship while earlier this year he became the first Scot in eight years to win the South African amateur title at the Royal Joburg club.

Graham said: “It was two years ago when I was over here in South Africa with the Scottish Golf team and we had the opportunity to play here at Leopard Creek in the African Amateur.

“It was such a cool experience. We were lucky enough to arrive here a week prior to the championship, so we got to play the course and use the practice facilities, and just got treated so well”.

And with Graham revealing he only learnt of his invitation late last Sunday night.

He said: “I only found out on Sunday night I had received an invitation so it was a mad rush to book a flight from Scotland down here.

“So, coming back here to Leopard Creek as a pro and as the reigning South African Amateur champion and making my DP World Tour debut here, I couldn’t ask for much better”.

The World No. 2,560 ranked Graham will join fellow Scots David Law, Connor Syme, Calum Hill and Scott Jamieson teeing-up in the event.

Heading the field will be the Springbok major winning duo of Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen.
