Double-D Celebrating His 20th Wedding Anniversary Sky High To The Grand Canyon State

David Drysdale and caddy/wife Vicky celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary today (SUNDAY) sky high jetting from Qatar to Arizona and Tuesday’s starting 2025 Champions Tour final qualifier.

The affable Scottish couple toasted their ‘China’ marriage milestone last night (Saturday Qatar time) in a Doha restaurant after Drysdale posted a final round 75 to share 57th place at the International Series Qatar in the Qatar capital.

American Peter Uihlein stormed his way to a five-shot success at 16-under for a second Asian Tour win of his season.

The penultimate Asian Tour event of the year was Drysdale’s last and while missing out on next week’s lucrative $5m year-ending tournament in Saudi Arabia, the Drysdale’s have next year on their minds and that’s competing full-time Stateside in the lucrative over-50s tour.

Drysdale said: “It’s been good these past few weeks, competing in Hong Kong and then four tough rounds in windy conditions here in Doha in keeping the game sharp ahead of next week in Phoenix.

“Vicky and I had a nice 20th anniversary dinner last night in our favourite Doha restaurant ahead of a really long flight to Phoenix.

“It’s going to take about nearly a day travelling, leaving here in Doha early Sunday and getting into Phoenix early evening Sunday.

“Then with final qualifying starting Tuesday, it gives us just Monday to settle in and get acquainted with the course”.

Joining Dysdale in the Grand Canyon State will be Bathgate’s Stevie Gallacher, who led for three rounds before finishing just a shot back of the winner in his recent opening qualifier in California.

The Tartan duo will join 66 other players, including double major-winning Angel Cabrera and recent DP World Tour colleagues Dane Soren Kjeldsen and Frenchman Raphael Jacquelin, over four rounds of the Champions course at TPC Scottsdale.

Only the top-5 place-getters will earn their 2025 Champions Tour card.
