The sixth hosting of the Asian Tour’s final touranment of the season is set to boast 44 LIV Golf players from the tour contingent of 54 players and who’ll tee-up early next month in the PIF International in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
“This new date gives the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers the key position and prominence it deserves as the climax to our season”, said Asian Tour CEO, Cho Minn Thant in Golf Monthly.
“We believe Riyadh Golf Club will provide an excellent stage to showcase the culmination of our year and, with so much on the line, it should make for a dramatic and must-watch ending to our 2024 season.”
Those set to tee-up on the Jack Nicklaus designed course include not only defending champ Ancer but also three of the previous winners and now LIV players that include: Dustin Johnson winning in 2019 and 2021, Graeme McDowell in 2020 and Harold Varner 111 in 2022.
As well, recent Alfred Dunhill Links champ Tyrrell Hatton plus Aussie Cameron Smith who this week will seek to capture a fourth Australian PGA title in Brisbane.
However it is understood three LIV players will be missing included new father Jon Rahm and along with major champs Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeCambeau.
The timing now of December for the PIF International instead of earlier in the year over the past five years and as the final event also of the Asian Tour’s International Series will allow Asian Tour players the chance to break onto the LIV Tour.
