Aussie Min Woo Lee will look to make it a second brother-and-sister winning double in a month heading to the final round of the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship.
Lee, 25, posted a second straight five-under-par 66 that handed him a three-shot lead at 17-under on the host Royal Queensland course in Brisbane.
The World No. 45 grabbed seven birdies while dropping two shots and with nearest rival Japan’s Riyuya Hishino signing for a 64 for a 14-under tally, and with Hishino one of 10 DP World Tour players, who last week secured full 2024 PGA Tour membership, as did Lee though through his efforts in 2023 PGA Tour counting events.

“I again played pretty solid,” Lee said following his round.
“A couple of mistakes but that happens. But overall, pretty happy with the way I went today. I expected myself to play pretty well.
“I’ve been hitting the ball so well all year and the results have been there. I just feel like it was just a couple of moments that I stuffed up, like on 8 today, I pulled an iron where I can look back and just hit a 7-iron and draw it off the right side and not be in the trees on the left.
“Stuff like that, I think everything’s been pretty up to par with how I think I’m going and how I have been going. Yeah, that’s pretty much it. It’s just those little moment”.
Lee will also head into the final round just five shots shy of matching the Australian PGA Championship four-round low of 22-under-par.
Lee’s already a double DP World Tour winner and a month ago captured a first Asian Tour title with victory at the Macau Open. A week later his 28-year-old sister Minji won a 10th LPGA title with victory in South Korea.
Earlier in the week on Tuesday, Minjee was honoured with a third ‘Greg Norman Medal’ as the most successful Australian-born golfer of the year and now baby brother Min Woo is primed to make it a double family triumph for a second time in a month.
“At the end of last week, the season technically ended but the year hasn’t ended and I wanted a win on the DP World Tour, so it was in the back of my mind and I wanted to win”, said Min Woo.
“So yeah, it will be amazing. Any win’s awesome. I have the potential to win but I’ve only had three wins, so it’s not like it comes off. Any time you win it’s an amazing feeling.
“I mean yeah, again, tomorrow’s just another day and hopefully I can keep going. I can just control what I can do and if someone goes out there and shoots low, hopefully I’ve finished the day happy with the way I played”.
