With the European Team now needing to win just win only five of the remaining Rome matches and the gleaming Ryder Cup returns to European possession.
That’s the scenario after another dominating sesssion by Luke Donald’s men winning three of the four Saturday morning matches for Europe to incredibly move seven points clear of their rivals – 9 1/2 to 2 1/2

Helping the European Team cause on day three was the record-smashing 9 & 7 victory by the all-Scandinavian duo of Viktor Hovland and rookie Ludvig Aberg.
On top of a record-setting four wins in the opening matches on Thursday, the win by Hovland and Aberg breaks the prior biggest win set by American Tom Kite in defeating England’s Howard Clark 8 & 7 in their singles encounter at the 1989 Ryder Cup.
Ahead for Europe is the all-time record, since Europe came on board in 1979, of the USAs 2021 winning margin of 10 points following their 19-9 triumph along the shores of Lake Michigan.
