Luke Donald’s European Team has produced an historic first by whitewashing the visiting Americans in winning all four opening foursome matches in the 44th hosting of the Ryder Cup.
Not since Europe first contested a Ryder Cup in 1979 has a European Team achieved such a feat.
Now they’ve done so and emphatic style in glorious morning conditions on the host Marco Simone course in Rome
