Westwood & Donald Send England Flag To Top Of Honda Classic Mast.

Lee Westwood and Luke Donald sent the England flag to the top the mast to be sharing the clubhouse lead late on day two of the Honda Classic at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

The former back-to-back World No.1s grabbed 11 birdies between with Westwood three birdies in a one-under par 69 and Donald eight birdies in his 66 to share the lead on four-under with American J T Post (69).

It was last month Westwood became just the third player in European Tour history to win over four decades in capturing the Abu Dhabi Championship.

Now the 47-year old continues to boost hopes of Ryder Cup selection in seeking a first PGA Tour win in nearly 12-years.

Donald, 42 is seeking a first win anywhere since capturing the 2012 BMW PGA at Wentworth.

“The game’s good and it’s nice to be back in contention as it’s been a lean stretch but then I have been making good progress the last four months ,” said Donald.

And Open Champ, Shane Lowry used his Royal Portrush winning putter on just 27 occasions in posting 69 to be just two shots behind the two Brits.
