Woods – A Couples Days Off, Make Sure His Lifts, Home With The Kids & Boston Bound.

Paramus, New Jersey …

Tiger Woods is quietly-confident a few days off from competition, make sure of his lifts and time spent with his two children and he will be fine to tee-up in next Friday’s starting Dell Technologies Championship at TPC Boston.

After his rousing second place finish in last fortnight’s PGA Championship, a then share of 39th place in the Northern Trust here in New Jersey.

Woods posted just two biries and had the only bogey in what has clearly been a frustrating week on the Ridgewood Country Club course greens.

Surprisingly, the 14-time Major winner had just 28 putts over both weekend rounds but it was 35 putts on day four that really hurt.

“You know, just the way it goes. You have good weeks and you have bad weeks,” said Woods.

“The greens, sometimes they look good to you. Sometimes they don’t. All of my good putts, basically, went in at Bellerive, and the bad putts lipped-out.

“This week, the good putts lipped-out and the bad ones didn’t have a chance. That’s the way it goes.”

Woods was asked what he takes away from this week and in what was his first appearance in a FedEx Cup ‘Play-Off’ series event in five-years.

“Well, the fact that I played a lot better than my score indicates,” he said.

“I didn’t make any birdies this week. I didn’t putt well and at the end of the day, I found a piece of my game that has been missing, which is driving it well, but you have to make putts.

“That’s the only way we’re going to shoot low rounds. I didn’t do it this week.

“I haven’t been there in years, so I’m looking forward to getting up there and playing. Try and take a look at the golf course and have a good time.”

But for the time being Woods was simply looking at leaving the New Jersey course and getting back home to Florida.

“Well, I’ve got to do some work this week. Take a couple days off and make sure that my lifts are good and just be home with the kids.” he said.
