Augusta, GA …
Top-ranked Aussie Jason Day ricocheted his second shot up the first hole at Augusta National off a tree and then a patron’s shoulder to bizarrely find the bottom of his beer cup.
Day hit a tree right of the fairway and with the patron, who looked like he enjoys the odd beer, being from perplexed or put off his beer as he duly chugged down the few remaining chugs before producing the golf ball.
“Good on ya, mate!” Day could be heard saying.

Of course, officials had to first advise Day he must go through the process of identifying his ball and with the good news for the patron is that the Masters is among the best value in all of US sports for a beer with patrons paying $4 for domestic ales and $5 for overseas beers.
The Ohio-based Day arrived at Augusta among a golf bag full of favourites given his play-off victory earlier this year at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Day is contesting his eighth Masters and in 2013 was, in fact, leading with a few holes to play before being pipped by fellow Queenslander Adam Scott who went onto to become the first Aussie in some 70-years to win the Masters.
