In a huge blow a left shoulder injury has forced Martin Kaymer to withdraw from this week’s WGC Bridgestone Invitational and next week’s PGA Championship.
Kaymer’s brother and manager, Philip indicated the 2010 PGA Championship winner from Whistling Straits, is suffering from inflammation in the tendon of his upper biceps and doctors have advised the German to take at least 10 days off from golf.

Kaymer is not planning to play again until August 24th starting Made in Denmark tournament on the European Tour.
The withdrawal of the current World No. 63 robs both the Firestone event and next week’s final major of the year of any German golfer in either field.
Kaymer was to be among 14 former winners of the Rodman Wanamaker Trophy to take next week to Quail Hollow in suburban Charlotte.
Kaymer has contested 16 events this year with a best finish of T4th in both the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and the Honda Classic while he finished T37th in his last event, the 146th Open Championship.
