Augusta, GA …
The hottest golfer in the world at the moment believes golf remains a funny game and this from the World No. 1 Dustin Johnson who is looking to make it four wins in succession with victory in this weeks Masters.
The American has won his past three events – the Genesis Open and the WGC Mexico Championship and then two weeks ago in the Texas catipal.
“Golf is a funny game as it doesn’t matter how good you’re playing, you can still not win,” he said ahead of his eighth Masters showing.
“Same goes for this week. If I want to win here, everything is going to have to go well for me. I am going to have to drive it well, hit my irons shots well, and putt really good.

“You know, I’ve got a lot of confidence in my game right now, especially the way I’ve being playing these last few tournament but you know, anything can happen.”
Bookmakers William Hill is offering 5/1 on Johnson adding the Masters to his US Open while Rory McIlroy is currently 15/2.
And Johnson, who you are never going to sit down for a long fireside chat, admitted his thirst to become the game’s top-ranked player only materialised when Tiger Woods was side-lined back in August 2015.
“When Tiger stopped playing is when I thought I could be the best,” he said smiling.
“The past couple of years I’ve been inside the top-10 for a while and I knew it was definitely a possibility, but I was going to have to get better.
“So clearly over the last year or so I feel like my game’s gotten a lot better but I always believed I could get there.”
