Rose Warms To Seeing St. George Flag Raised At Augusta For Second Year In Succession.

Houston, TX …

England’s top-ranked Justin Rose says he’s short game and putting is so good he’s quietly confident of seeing the St. George flag raised at Augusta National for a second year running.

Rose fought back from a horror mid-round two-hole collapse when he dropped three shots to birdie three of his closing seven holes in a round of 71 to stay inside the top-10 at six under par on day two of the Shell Houston Open.

The Rio Gold medal winning Rose also saw off any challenge with past Masters winners Jordan Spieth (77) and Adam Scott (77) along with Open Champion Henrik Stenson (75) assured of missing the cut in America’s fourth largest city.

“I won a U.S. Open with my driving but if I’m to win a Masters, and I am sure I can, then it will from 50 to 60 yards from the green,” said Rose.

“And being among 11 England players teeing-up next week, and given Danny won last year at Augusta, I kind of like the thought of becoming the second England player in a row to be fitted with a green jacket.”
