Scotland’s Duncan Stewart eased the disappointment of missing the cut in winning the keys to gleaming BMW for an ace in his second round at the rain-affected Hero India Open.
The Grantown on Spey golfer was among some 60 players who had to return to the New Delhi course Saturday to complete their second round.
And Stewart, who had teamed with Russell Knox in last year’s World Cup of Golf, did that in style pulling out a 6-iron and then landing his 178-yard tee shot just short of the flag for the ball then to disappear into the cup to earn the keys to the $US 20,000 gleaming new motor.
Stewart later tweeted: “It will look good in the Turnhouse Golf Club car park”.
Stewart was nine-over par at the time with his first Tour ace putting him back to seven over par.

Scotland’s Duncan Stewart wins a gleaming new BMW for his ace in round two of the 2017 Hero Indian Open.
But for a second round running his bogeyed the seventh hole that he was playing as his 16th before then also birding the eighth or his 17th also for a second occasion.
Unfortunately, Stewart’s round of 75 after an opening 76 fell one shot shy of the 32-year old Scot playing the last two rounds.
Eight months ago another Scot in Richie Ramsay holed out from 182-yards at the 16th hole on the opening day of the BMW International Open to win a BMW M760Li x believed worth in the region of $150,000.
However Ramsay was forced to wait before getting a taste of his new prize at the back of the tee, because the car was locked!
Scott Jamieson is again the leading Scot for a second week running but still has four holes to play of his third round to be lying at three under par.
Three players – England’s Eddie Pepperell, Spain’s Carlos Pigem and local hero SSP Chawrasia – head the event on six under and also with eight holes of their third round to complete ahead of the final fourth round.
