Inverness, Scotland … Sweden’s Alex Noren found the best way in dealing with the wait of a 3.20pm third round Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open tee time chilling out watching an episodes of the US sitcom program Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Noren then warmed to the miserable rainy conditions to birdie his closing two holes in a round of 68 to move to 12-under par and two clear of Manassero and England’s Tyrrell Hatton who was four under after just three holes and also birdied his last two holes in a 66.
“To birdie the last and to go into tomorrow with a two shot was very nice,” said Noren.
“All I was trying to do was put in a good round and then deal with the weather that rolled in but the good thing the course soaked-up the rain while other courses would have flooded.

“The thing is now that anyone who is six or seven under could shoot a good round, so I will be trying to do the same.
“But the hardest thing today was dealing with the late tee time but then I managed to kill some time watching that TV show, Curb Your Enthusiasm before getting to course the near lunch.”
But then as Noren looks to capture a fifth Tour title his biggest concern was how to deal with teeing off at 3.20pm and with TV again running the Tour, and delaying the tee times due to coverage of the Women’s Final at Wimbledon.
“It’s pretty nice, to lay in, have a 3.20 tee off,” said Noren smiling.
“That helps. No, but it is a little bit frustrating when you tee off late and preferably today, we would have wanted to tee off earlier. I hope we tee off earlier tomorrow.
“Well, it’s late, but with experience, I’ve been out here maybe nine or ten years now, and you just try and do something else during the evenings, during the mornings and then try to get out here with a fresh mind.”
And how did Noren ‘kill’ time before getting to the course.
“I was watching a few episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm,” he said.
