Danny Willett Out To Take Lead From Rory McIlroy In Race To Dubai.

Danny Willett is set to deliver absent World No. 1 Rory McIlroy another body blow in moving to top spot in the Race to Dubai.

Willett tees-up in only his second WGC – Bridgestone Invitational in suburban Akron, Ohio needing to finish top-four to go past the injured McIlroy on the money list.

The Sheffied-born Willett is only Euro 327, 206 adrift of McIlroy.

And the 27-year old double Tour winner is the best of form coming off his Alpine triumph last fortnight and his second success this season.

“I played well in The Open and then went to Switzerland in good spirits,” he said.

“Though these WGC events are the next step up for me.

“It’s just great to come across to these events in America and test yourself and see how good you are over here.

“These are the events you need to start performing in. You look at guys who have succeeded in both Europe and America – Rory, Lee, Justin – they’ve done well on both sides of the pond.”
