Double Major winning John Daly has celebrated his engagement in capturing the Beko Classic, a three-round Pro-Am format tournament at Antalya, Turkey.
It is Daly’s first victory first time in 10 years since tasting success since winning the 2004 Buick Invitational and the fifth of his five wins on the PGA Tour.
Daly, with his future wife Anna Cladakis carrying the clubs, shot an even-par 72 in the final round and hold on to win by a stroke with a 15-under par total and one clear of England’s Robert Coles (67) in the elite 16-player event at the Gloria course.
Also in the field was fellow Open Champion Darren Clarke and in an event sanctioned by the PGAs of Europe.
Daly collected a first prize cheque for $8,000 and with the now 48 year old, who had contested the recent Turkish Airlines Open, saying the win would give him confidence going into next season.
“It feels great to win –- as professional we try to build on confidence so any time you win anything it’s a confidence builder,” said Daly.
“It’s pretty much my last tournament of the year so I can hopefully go into 2015 with some extra confidence.”

John Daly ends a 10-year victory drought to capture the 2014 Beko Classic and two days after announcing his engagement.
Clarke finished sixth on 11-under par behind Daly after having shot an eight under par 64 and, after a difficult day on Friday when he shot 77 and a day after a first round bogey-free 64, ending with four straight birdies in his final round.
Clarke will now head to Thailand for the Asian Tour’s Thailand Classic which begins on Thursday at Amata Spring Country Club before heading to the inaugural Asian Tour event Dubai Open at the Els Club.
