Rory McIlroy gave the strongest hint yet he and finance Caroline Wozniacki will tie the knot later this year in the ‘Big Apple’.
Rumours are ripe the double Major Champion and the Danish tennis ace will be married in New York either late November or early December, and once the playing commitments this year for both have ended.
McIlroy was asked about suggestions of a New York wedding yesterday (MON) at Augusta National and venue for Thursday’s starting Masters.
“I don’t know where they got that rumour from,” he said smiling.

“Yes, it could be. We’ll see. Sources have sources. It is definitely nothing to do with me. I just say ‘yes, how much?’”
McIlroy arrived into Augusta late on Sunday following a confidence-lifting final round 65 to share seventh place in the Shell Houston Open.
It was his best-ever round in America’s fourth largest city in four appearances in Houston.
Joining him in Augusta is Wozniacki and who is expected, weather permitting, to again don those most unfashionable Augusta National white caddy overalls and caddy for her beau in Wednesday’s Par 3 Contest.
“The weather doesn’t look great for Wednesday but I’ll play, and yes, Caroline said she’ll take the bag round again,” said McIlroy.
“But her only concern is getting wet.”
