Car Door Mishap Leaves Blimp On Jonas Blixt’s Radar.

A mishap in opening a car door could have been more serious for in-form Swede Jonas Blixt.

Blixt is returning to competition for a first time since his stunning Masters debut where he and fellow Augusta National first-time Jordan Spieth shared second place behind Bubba Watson.

However on route home from Augusta Blixt was opening the car door of his vehicle when a gust of wind caught him off-guard.

“I was holding the car door when a gust of wind flew open the door, and it stretched my left arm out, so that when I picked up a golf club I couldn’t take the club back,” he said.

Jonas Blixt the only played in the last two Majors with top-8 finishes.

“So that was a little bit of an issue the past fortnight.”

As well, Blixt has been struggling for some six days with a head cold, and it was only last week he was able to get back onto the practice range.

And while Blixt is confident the injury has healed, here’s a stat for you.  The Swede has now competed in just two Majors including last year’s PGA Championship and he’s the only player who has finished better than 8th in both of them.

“Being in contention with all those great players, you definitely get a little bit of confidence boost doing that, and that you can compete with them,” he  said.

“Now you need to do it on a regular basis.

“But being up there and having all these people … I mean the acoustics around Augusta, it doesn’t get much bigger for a golfer and to be able to perform during that was very satisfying and I hope to build on it absolutely.”
