Just three days into a New Year and I find myself on route to a first tournament of 2014 – the Volvo Champions in Durban, South Africa.

And rather than just fly straight to Durban I am spending the weekend in Cape Town.

However no sooner had my Emirates flight leveled out and I was admiring some stunning desert scenery and including one snap below, the fire from an oil well.
