Tiger Woods Backing Broncos To Win Super Bowl XLVIII

Tiger Woods is backing a Denver Bronco’s victory at this weekend’s Super Bowl XLVIII declaring it would ‘shut everybody up’ who’ve criticised quarterback, Peyton Manning.

Despite being a devout Raiders fan, Woods is backing his good friend, Manning and the Broncos to defeat the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday and capture just a third Super Bowl crown at MetLife Stadium in New Jersery.

“I like the Broncos to win,” he said.

“I’m a good friend with Peyton.  Peyton is one of my good buddies, and to see .. let’s be honest;  he got scrutinized pretty hard when he left Indy tha t he would never be the same after his neck injury, and it’s right, he’s not the same;  he’s better.    And that’s cool to see.

“That’s cool to see the hard work that he put to shut everybody up.”

Woods was speaking from the United Arab Emirates where the World No. 1 is contesting the 25th anniversary of the Dubai Desert Classic.

Despite being captivated by golf at an early age, Woods has always had a likeness for the NFL as a young kid growing up in Southern California, and with his attention focussed on the then L. A. based Raiders.

Woods first Super Bowl memory was watching the Raiders humble the Washington Redskins to win Super Bowl XV111.

However Woods was in attendance when the Raiders went down 48-21 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXV11.

Woods, who has experienced many injuries throughout his career including ‘hobbling’ to win his last Major and the 2008 US Open, is known to have texted injured NFL stars wishing them well during their recouperation,

And Woods is on record saying he also likes ‘the toughness’ of the NFL.

“I love the toughness of the NFL,” he said.

“And I love the cerebral aspect of it. Getting to know some of the guys, and getting to see their playbook, now that’s something to take in.

“It’s like learning a language. The amount of work they have to put it to make things more reactionary is unbelievable. Most people don’t have any idea the amount of work the NFL players put in.”

The World No. 1 is a former two-time winner of the European Tour event and will contest the opening two rounds of the $US 2.5m event alongside former World No. 1 Rory McIlroy and defending Dubai champion, Stephen Gallacher of Scotland.
