David Howell’s caddy was lucky to avoid serious injury during the first round of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

After being hit accidentally on the ankle by the reigning Alfred Dunhill Links champion while on the range on Tuesday, Steve Brotherhood was struck in the face by a sand wedge in a second bizarre incident while out today on the Majlis course.ro

Howell was taking a practice swing and accidently caught Brotherhood under his left eye.

“I told Howeller he better have a good lawyer,” he joked.

And to prove just the toughness of the European Tour caddies he carried on to caddy for ‘Howeller’ for the full 18 holes.
