Tiger Woods Waits 15 Hours To Birdie 11th Hole In Turkish Airlines Open.

Tiger Woods, like the majority of competitors in the Turkish Airlines Open, had to wait 15 hours to resume his opening round in the $7m event being played on the Maxx Royal course in Belek.

There were less than 40 spectators waiting close to the 11th green when the siren sounded at 8am local time to herald the restart to play after a three-hour thunderstorm delay to the start of play on Thursday.

Woods was lying at one under par and staring at a 20-yard chip shot when play was halted just prior to 5pm.

The world’s top-ranked player was observed still limbering-up while playing partners Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson were further back down the fairway.

Woods played his chip to four feet before holing out for birdie and move to two-under par.

Then at the 12th hole Woods was joined by four fellows wearing Tiger Woods masks (See photograph below).
