The Shark Takes Another Bite At Tiger.

Greg Norman has taken another bite at Tiger Woods by again declaring what he said late last year and that is Woods will not break Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 Major Championship triumphs.

Norman was being interviewed on another of those boring American TV morning shows – CBS – This Morning – when the subject (yawn, yawn) of Woods breaking the Golden Bear’s record was raised.

“I think the longer the time goes by with him not doing it, the harder it’s going to be,” said Norman.

“The reason why: He’s losing his intimidation factor.

“One of the greatest assets you can have as a great player is that intimidation, whether it’s golf or on the tennis court or in basketball. And right now he’s losing that edge a little bit because the younger players are beating him.

“The older he gets, the younger the younger players get.”

Of course, Woods will head to the Masters next year into his sixth year since capturing a 14th Major – the 2008 US Open but between then and now Woods will also turn 38 years of age.

Regardless, Woods is still the best player in the world as evident by his five wins this season.
And while Woods went without a victory in the Majors this year there is enough golf left this year for the Star Spangled American to add to his season tally of victories including this week’s Barclay’s Championship in New Jersey, and despite carrying a niggling neck injury.Really, no one should be questioning Tiger Woods intimidation factor.

“We have these four playoff events, I also have the Presidents Cup, and I’ve got an overseas event and I have my event (World Challenge in Southern California), so I’ve got plenty of golf to play,” he said.

“It’s not that hard to get up for.”
