Triple Major winning Padraig Harrington has crash dived to his worst PGA Tour performance in four years after easily missing the halfway cut in the Wydnham Championship in North Carolina.
Harrington posted scores of 73 and 74 for a seven over par tally and seven shots shy of the halfway cut on the Sedgefield course in Greensboro.
American Patrick Reed leads the field by a stroke on 11 under par after rounds of 65 and 64.
That is a far cry from Harrington.
Included in his second round was four birdies but also two bogeys along with a ninth hole double bogey and a second hole quadruple bogey ‘8’.
www.golfbytourmiss.com can’t remember the last occasion Harrington handed in scorecard sporting an ‘8’.
Harrington had missed the cut in the Reno Tahoe Open and then last week he also was cut from the final two rounds of the last two days of the PGA Championship at Oak Hill.
It is officially Harrington’s worst effort on the PGA Tour since missing three cuts in succession midway during the 2009 season.
And at 132nd on the PGA Tour money list this year Harrington has an uphill battle to qualify for the FedEx Cup Play Off Series.
