Rory McIlroy Easily Heading PGA Tour Awards Announcement Tuesday

World No. 1 Rory McIlroy easily heads the list of yearly achievement awards when the PGA Tour makes the announcement next Tuesday.

McIlroy captured a second Major title in winning the PGA Championship along with three PGA Tour titles in 2012 to be certain of being named Player of the Year.

As well, the 23-year old secured another six top-10s throughout the season.

In other awards Tiger Woods, Brandt Snedeker, Jason Dufner and Bubba Watson are also finalists for the Jack Nicklaus Award.

American John Huh, who earned his Tour card at the 2011 Q-School, is favourite to win the coveted Rookie of the Year award on the back of the 22-year old capturing the Mayakoba Championship plus three other top-10s.

Huh also was the only rookie to compete in the season-ending Tour Championship. Other nominees include Charlie Beljan, Jonas Blixt, Bud Cauler and Ted Potter Jnr.

This was the award McIlroy should have been afforded in his PGA Tour year but strangely officials overlooked the Northern Irishman in 2010 in favour of Rickie Fowler.
