Caroline Wozinacki will now compete in a series of events leading up to the 2013 Australian Open inspired by the efforts of her boyfriend, Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy wrapped up his fifth full season in the pro ranks in devastating manner storming home on the Dubai desert Earth Course to win the season-ending DP World Tour Championship.

After trailing two shots behind with five holes to play, McIlroy flicked the thrill switch to birdie his closing five holes and win by two.
In a Tiger Woods like final round kill, McIlroy wore a red shirt to savage his rivals.
But the 23-year old later revealed it was pure coincidence he wore a red shirt over the final round of the final event of his year.
“Wearing red seems to work, and I know it’s worked for someone for a while (smiling)”, said McIlroy.
“Actually, it was the only last clean shirt I had, that’s the hones truth. It’s worked for the last couple of times but I don’t think there’s anything to it.”
McIlroy afterwards had Wozniacki join him on the presentation green for the various trophy shots.
But while McIlroy’s season has come to an end Wozniacki’s is gearing up for January’s first Grand Slam event, the Australian Open.
McIlroy will accompany her next month to Aspen, Colorado and then to Sao Paulo, Brazil where she is playing in exhibition matches before her first event of 2013 at the Brisbane International in Australia.
With the Brisbane event running from December 30th to January 6th there’s every reason to believe McIlroy will spend New Year Eve in Australia given he begins his new season practice at the Els Club in Dubai on January 7th.
While McIlroy will be back in Dubai, the current World No. 10 ranked Dane will be preparing for the first Grand Slam event of the year later that month in Melbourne – the Australian Open.
And after having to nurse McIlroy through a bout of sunstroke, it’s now Wozniacki’s turn to focus on her next big tennis challenge.
“If I didn’t have a job myself I might come out for a few more weeks,” she laughed.
“But it was just so exciting watching Rory today. He had quite sick the last few nights, and I all I gave him was Tylenol I guess.
“However he was really bad last night, terrible. It was the worst he was but he got up this morning and it was quite good.
“But then to see him close out the tournament like that was definitely inspirational for me.
“It’s great to see him doing so well and never giving up. I think he’s matured a lot the last year or two, you know. It’s great to see, he’s such a great player – it’s amazing to see. He’ll keep going for a long time.”
