Ailing World No. 1 Rory McIlroy was not the only player frustrated after a third storm stoppage in this year’s Barclays Singapore Open.
After a first deley due to the seasonal thunder storms on the opening day of the $6m event there was a further two delays on day two.

McIlroy, who had tennis girlfriend Caroline Wozinacki again for support, had ended his round with a one under par 70 near lunch on Friday and then after a short break joined 77 of his colleagues taking to the Sentosa course for his second round.
However he had only played 12 holes when there was second stoppage, and then after the delay the double Major winner returned to land a 205-yard 6-iron to three feet for birdie.
But then McIlroy, who is struggling with a virus/and or head cold, then hit three shots down his 13th hole and siren sounded again for a third time at around 3pm local time.
Officials then advised there would be a 5.30pm resumption but at 5.05pm, and with rain still falling, play was abandoned for the day.
“That was a nice way to restart after the stoppage for birdie but then I only managed to play three holes before they sounded the siren again for us to come off,” he said to www.golfbytourmiss.com
“I didn’t manage to hole any putts over the first round but so far in the second round I feel as though I am playing okay.
“All these stoppages are very frustrating but then there is not much you can do about it as this is the weather they get here in Singapore this time of year.”
Tournament Director, Miguel Zamora later issued a statement that it was the intention to try and play all 72 holes of the co-sanctioned event.
And that included staging the fourth round on Monday.
England’s Simon Dyson and Thailand’s Chapchai Nirat head the event on six under par.
