Rory McIlroy Hot Favourite For Player Of The Year Award On Both Sides Of The Pond.

World No. 1 Rory McIlroy is now hot favourite to win the ‘Player of the Year’ awards on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

Rory McIlroy all set to be win ‘Player of the Year’ awards in both Europe and the States.

After the disappointment of not being named PGA Tour ‘Rookie of the Year’ two years ago, McIlroy cannot not be denied this year after having moved to No.1 in the World, captured a second Major and then finished atop of the money list in both the States and now the Race to Dubai.

McIlroy and Tiger Woods are among five players for the PGA Tour ‘Player of the Year’ with the award to be voted on by the rank-and-file of PGA Tour members.

Also nominated for PGA Tour ‘Player of the Year’ is Brandt Snedeker, Masters winning hero, Bubba Watson and Jason Dufner.

McIlroy also is favourite for PGA of America ‘Player of the Year’ and if successful, would follow in the foosteps of England’s Luke Donald who captured this award last year.

The European Tour will meet early next month to choose the ‘European Tour Player of the Year’ and with also McIlroy red hot favourite to win the award for a first time in his short five-year pro career.

McIlroy should also be voted tops by the Golf Writers Association of America (GWAA) award but then the 23-year old could find himself pipped for the coveted European Tour based Association of Golf Writers (AGW) trophy with the victorious European Ryder Cup side favourites for an award the votes on both team and individual brilliance.
