Olympic swimming legend, Michael Phelps will join Team USA at this month’s Ryder Cup in Medinah.

Phelps, 27 recently retired as the most decorated Olympian of all time winning 22 medals including 18 gold medals (11 for individual events).

Michael Phelps now heading to Medinah to help Team USA win back the Ryder Cup.

At the recent London Olympics, Phelps won four gold and two silver medals, making him the most successful athlete of the Games for a third Olympics in a row.

Phelps, who has been coached by Hank Haney, will now join NBA legend, Michael Jordan in a who’s who of celebrities lending support to the Davis Love 111 USA team.

Also heading to Medinah is Justin Timberlake, Bill Murray, George Lopen and Scottie Pippen, a team mate alongside Jordan at the Chicago Bulls.

Those stars will play 10 holes of Medinah against former USA Team captains Ben Crenshaw, Tom Kite, Tom Lehman, Corey Pavin, Dave Stockton, Hal Sutton, Lee Trevino and Lanny Wadkins.

It’s uncertain how many former European Team captains will be heading for the ‘Windy City’.

However with the USA Team all ready looking top heavy with ‘outside’ backing it’s little wonder with so many ‘hangerson’ that past European Captain, Colin Montgomerie declared he turned down invitations to three major Medinah events just so he would not be in Jose Maria Olazabal’s way.
