One of Europe’s top golf writers was a ‘smash’ hit at the now annual Callaway function ahead of the Open Championship.

Alistair Tait, who works for Golf Week magazine and is also a winner of countless media outings. was left very red faced after he thinned an 80-yard bunker shot that cannoned off a pathway in front of the Lytham Green Drive Golf Club and smashing a large plate glass window.

Among those shocked and surprised Tait could do such damage with a golf ball was Assocation of Golf Writers, Chairman, Bill Elliott.
