Alex Noren Looking For Double Birthday Celebration After Girlfriend Wins In Norway.

Sweden’s Alex Noren will be now looking for a double birthday celebration after posting a second straight 66 for a 12-under par tally on day two of the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Castle Stuart.

The Monte Carlo based Noren, who is chasing a third Tour victory, stormed into the clubhouse lead on 12-under par before being joined by overnight leader, Francesco Molinari who could only add a 70 to his first round course record of 62.

Noren celebrated his 30th birthday on Thursday and his girlfriend of two years,  Emelie Lind’s gift to him was winning a Nordea Tour event, the Norwegian Challenge, on Monday July 9th.

“Emelie gave me a nice birthday gift in winning a tournament on Monday, so that was a really nice present for the both of us,” he said.

“It’s also good to bounce back after last week’s effort in France as I just one off the lead going into Saturday but finished poorly to be two over on the weekend.”

Noren broke through for his maiden Tour success in capturing the 2009 Omega European Masters and the very first event of the 2010 European Ryder Cup qualifying process.

He then won twice last year in sealing victories in the Wales Open and at home in the Nordea Masters.
