James Morrison Wins BMW ‘6’ Series Convertible With Portrush Ace.

England’s James Morrison is on a roll as evident in winning the keys to a spanking new BMW ‘6’ Series convertible for a hole-in-one on day one of the Irish Open.

Morrison recorded his first-ever European Tour just three days after finishing the leading Open Championship qualifier at Sunningdale.

Morrison already owns a BMW X-6 and now is the proud owner of a £90,000 second BMW.

The 27-year old Englishman, who is married to an Australian, hit a 195-yard 5-iron into the par three, 14th that is named ‘Calamity’.

“It’s funny as I walked to the tee and walked by the car and said to myself:  ‘Why can’t it be me today?’

“It was a feel really and then my 5-iron shot went straight in the hole, and it’s my first hole-in-one as a pro, so I’m over the moon.”

It is the second week in succession a BMW ‘6’series has been won for a hole-in-one after fellow Englishman Andrew Marshall was handed the keys to a similar convertible for his effort during last week’s BMW International Open in Cologne.

However Marshall, who shot a six under par 66 to share the lead early on day one, couldn’t believe Morrison’s good fortune.

“I don’t believe you, I don’t  believe you,” when www.golfbytourmiss.com mentioned it to Marshall.

“No, it can’t be true. I was sitting with Jimmy (Morrison) on Monday teasing him about loaning him the car.”

In fact, Marshall went back to the scorer’s hut to verify that it was true.

“Wait till I catch up with him,” joked Marshall.
