Paul McGinley finds himself being drawn in the last group out in Monday’s 36-hole Open Championship qualifier at Sunningdale in Surrey.
The R & A have drawn the 45-year old Dubliner to compete alongside Sweden’s Niclas Fasth and teeing up on Sunningdale’s Old Course at 10.12am local time Monday.

The duo are then out at 2.47pm and in the last group for the second 18 holes on the New Course.
McGinley will be looking to finish the top-10 among the 96 competitors for the assurance of contesting the July 19th commencing 141st Open Championship at Royal Lytham and St. Annes.
McGinley was unsuccessful the past two years on the Surrey course but is determined to qualify and make it three Royal Lytham appearances in succession after contesting the 1996 Open and also the 2001 Open on the Lancashire links gem.
Fasth also has the incentive of returning to Royal Lytham where he had finished runner-up to American David Duval 11 years ago.
However it proved a frustrating day for McGinley in the third round of the BMW International Open in Cologne.
After starting the day just two strokes from the lead the triple Ryder Cup winning star carded a 77 to fall to four under par and seven behind England’s Danny Willett (69) who leads by one stroke on 11-under par.
