Irish-born TV analyst David Feherty could be in hot water with Augusta National officals over some of his on-air criticisms.
Feherty is already well past his use by date when it comes to being a funny man, and if he doesn’t tone it down could find himself banished from Augusta just as Gary McCord was some years back for his ‘bikini wax’ remark.
USA Today newspaper reported in describing a Phil Mickelson chip shot on Saturday Feherty remarked: “If this doesn’t make every hair on your body stand up, you need theraphy”.
During the final round Feherty in describing Louis Oosthuizen’s albatross: “Come to me papa. Come on. You know you want to.”
One reason Feherty was employed by CBS was for those witty remarks but enough is surely enough and while his Golf Channel TV show is into a second season it is like watching a washed-up comedian.
