Padraig Harrington is now just 10 places shy of being ranked 100th in the world.
The release of the rankings following the conclusion of events on Sunday around the world has seen Harrington drop a further place to 90th in the world.
It was this month three years ago the affable Dubliner was ranked a career best of No. 3 in the world.
However hurting the triple Major winner was the fact he did not qualify for the WGC – Cadillac Championship won by Justin Rose and will not compete again to the Shell Houston Open in the week before the April 5th commencing U.S. Masters.
Rose was the biggest mover on the World Rankings jumping from 22nd to seventh courtesy of his one stroke success on the TPC Blue Monster.
And Japan’s Ryo Ishikawa has moved inside the top-50 to 47th in the world following his second place result in the PGA Tour event in Puerto Rico.
Ishikawa’s effort comes just a few days after he was granted an Augusta ‘Special Invitation’.
However one wonders now if Ishikawa automatically qualifies for the Masters whether Augusta will pass on the ‘Special Invitation’ to a player not otherwise except such as the likes of either England’s Robert Rock (56th in the world), Italy’s Matteo Manassero (63rd) or Belgium’s exciting Nicolas Colsaerts (68th).
