The Ryder Cup has chalked-up plenty of air miles in recent weeks including a trip to warn-torn Afghanistan and now a journey to a race meeting in Hong Kong.
The golden trophy, won by Colin Montgomerie’s victorious European Team last year, was on display within the Adrenaline Lounge at the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Happy Valley Race course.
UBS Hong Kong Tournament Director, Jamie Birkmyre was looking after the symbol of supremacy between Europe and the USA after Monty had arrived from Afghanistan on Monday and a visit to British troops.
A number of the 2010 victorious team had their photographs taken with the trophy at the spectacular race facility including Padraig Harrington, Miguel Angel Jimenez and Ian Poulter.
There was also a race sponsored by the European Tour, the European Tour Golf Cup won by Super Plus and ridden by jockey T.H. So.
Harrington, Olazabal and Justin Rose, who is competing in Hong Kong for a first time in his career, were on hand to present trophies to the owner, trainer and jockey.
