Warm sunshine greeted players, officials and specatators for the start of the 2011 Vivendi Seve Trophy at the Saint Nom-la-Breteche club in France.

After the formal introductions it was Spain’s Miguel Angel Jimenez who hit the opening tee shot after it had been explained to all that the Continental Europe side was hitting off first is a mark of respect for the late, great Seve Ballesteros.
