Doubts over the staging of next month’s Andalucia Valderrama Masters have been put at ease.
It’s believed talks took place with week in Switzerland that will ensure the Euro 3m event goes ahead.
However when the 2011 schedule was released late last year the event was known as the Andalucia Masters but following the talks Valderrama has been put back into the tournament title and just as it was known last year when reigning U.S. Open titlelholder, Graeme McDowelll won by two strokes.
Boosting interest in the October 27th starting event is that 2010 PGA champion, Martin Kaymer after missing the event last year.
Patino acquired the course in 1984, and in 1997 Valderrama hosted the Ryder Cup with wild scenes as Seve Ballesteros led Europe to a one point success over Tom Kite’s USA team.
In 2010 a group headed by Greg Norman sought to purchase Valderrama and the Valderrama golf course but it’s understood the deal fell through.
