GB&I Hero Cup captain Tommy Fleetwood says there is no guarantee the Scottish duo of Ewen Ferguson and Robert MacIntyre will be paired in January’s inaugural staging of the event.

A decision by World No. 1 Rory McIlroy and fellow Open champ Shane Lowry along with possibly two to three other GB & I stars ruling themselves out of GB & I team selection could see Ewen Ferguson join fellow Scot Bob MacIntyre in January’s inaugural Hero Cup in Abu Dhabi.

World No. 1 Rory McIlroy along with DP World Tour championship winner Jon Rahm along with superstar Norwegian Vicktor Hovland have advised organisers they will be unavailable for the 2023 inaugural Hero Cup, and with teams for the Abu Dhabi event to be announced later this week.
