Five-time European Tour winner Michael Hoey has withdrawn from this year’s Open Championship through injury. Hoey had shot an opening round of a five over par 75 and was three over par through seven holes on day two when he withdrew. It has been revealed Hoey recently had a callous removed from his left foot but in replacing the bandage this morning a large portion of flesh came away from the bandage.
